How Much Does a Music Video Cost in Egypt? What Really Sets the Price

The question I get most from singers and producers is simple: "How much for a music video?" The honest answer is that music video cost in Egypt isn't a fixed number. It has a set of decisions. A simple concept in one location is a completely different project from a story with actors across three locations. Here is what actually shapes the number, so you can walk into any meeting knowing what to ask for.

1. The concept is the first budget line

Everything follows from the idea. "The singer performs in a beautiful place" costs far less than a dramatic story with characters. I always start with one question: what should the viewer feel? A smart, simple idea often beats a huge production with no soul.

2. Number of shoot days

The shoot day is the basic unit of cost, because it bundles crew fees, equipment, location and transport. Most music videos shoot in a single day; some need two or more. The better the preparation, the fewer extra days you need.

3. Camera, lenses and lighting

A cinema camera and a consumer camera differ on screen and on the invoice. Lenses, lights and movement tools like gimbals, cranes and drones come with them. You don't need to rent everything. You need what serves the idea.

4. Locations and permits

Shooting in an apartment or small studio is very different from a hotel or a public space that needs a permit. Some locations rent by the hour, some by the day, and some need set dressing.

5. Cast, wardrobe and styling

If the video tells a story, you'll need actors, and probably a stylist and a makeup artist. These lines make a real difference to the final image, because faces and clothes are part of a video's language.

6. Post-production: editing and color

Editing and color grading are where footage becomes a music video. The edit follows the song's rhythm, the grade gives the video its visual identity, and then come versions for each platform: horizontal for YouTube, vertical for Reels and TikTok.

Getting the most from your budget

  • Be honest about your budget from day one. A good director will build the idea around it.
  • Use fewer locations and make one of them count.
  • Ask for a short vertical cut from the same footage for social media.
  • Never skip preparation. A good prep day saves a shoot day.

The bottom line

The real price is the sum of your choices. So don't just ask "how much?", ask "what does this song actually need?" If you have a song and want a clear concept and budget, get in touch and send me the track. I'll suggest an idea that fits what you can spend.
